About Wade Byrd

My name is Wade Byrd.

Because I’ve been a horse vet since the early 90’s and have been privileged to work with some of the fastest and most stunning horses around.

It’s really keeps me on my ties and I enjoy it.

But, even though I’ve been successful at it by any definition, I’ve always been driven to want more for myself an my life.

Really, I wanted more freedom.

I wanted to live my life on my terms.

So, in 2008 I made a commitment to exactly that.

I started studying and reading everything I could get my hands around.

And while trying to figure everything out, I spent thousands and thousands of dollars.

Through it all, I just *knew* in my heart I was one “secret” away from my big breakthrough. Whether it was a product pertaining to traffic or lead generation, how to write better copy, how to build a site… you name it, I bought it. Unfortunately, for most of the tools and stuff I was buying, I just wasn’t ready for it.

Kinda like having the giant toolbox of a master mechanic but no mechanic skills…those tools won’t fix the car themselves.

The marketer makes the tool – the tool doesn’t make the marketer.

Read that sentence many times. Let it sink in a bit. It’s deep, it’s real and if you fully grasp it, you’ll avoid making many of the same mistakes I did.

As I’ve gone through this process, I discovered some lessons that I’m going to share with you

1. You shouldn’t trade dollars for success. You trade blood, sweat and tears for success. You can go out and spend money until the cows come home and you won’t be successful if you’re not on the front lines, focusing on selling what you’re promoting. Instead of buying everything that claims it will help you become successful, focus only on your specific objectives and outcomes (not just making money, but, for example, increasing conversions, etc).

Just like I used to do, a lot of people go out and get just about every ebook, home study course or workshop there is. Unfortunately, they go unused and half the time, the package is never even opened or looked at. You can’t spend more money to become successful – you spend money to gain knowledge. Only when you APPLY that knowledge  can you create wealth beyond your wildest dreams.

2. You MUST prioritize your activities. We only have so many hours in a day. So, to be successful you have to make a list and prioritize it for what needs to be completed. Keep it in front of you at all times. Whether it’s a data capture page, writing follow up emails, new images for a blog, running an online promotion, etc – you need to write them down and prioritize them appropriately.

Once you do this, you must find a way to hold yourself accountable for follow through. If you want to create serious income online, I’m not going to sugar coat things or tell you what you want to hear.

I’m a HUGE hockey fan. I love the sport. I love the intensity and the passion. There’s nothing like watching my Kings get on the ice and pulverize their opponent. But, I can’t tell you how many games I’ve missed because I was studying, working on a project or doing something that would ultimately put more cash in my bank account.

I’m sure you can relate. The people who want it bad enough will do anything to make it happen. Building a business from your laptop is no different. It takes work, consistency and perseverance. Anyone who tells you different has never built a successful business…and never will.

Study your craft. Become and act like a pro. Apply the knowledge you learn and paid for. One way or another we all pay for the lessons we learn. Whether we try to ‘wing” it ourselves or when we purchase educational material. At the end of the day, there’s a cost associated with acquiring knowledge.

3. Find a mentor and follow him/her CLOSELY. Find someone who’s been where you’re looking to go. Just one person you can really dig into. I don’t just mean sign up for their newsletter online or follow their social media posts – I mean STUDY THEM. Look under the hood, buy their products, meet them and work with them directly if you can. As I said…one way or another you pay for knowledge. Whether it’s by learning the hard way and stumbling along or by going out there and being mentored by someone who’s been exactly where you’re at now.

When you latch on to a mentor, you’re able to learn from their mistakes. You’ll learn things from a new perspective. Not only does this shave a massive amount of time from your learning curve, but it also saves you a ton of money too because you’re doing it right THE FIRST TIME. How many times have you done something many times before you got it dialed in. There’s a lot to be said about getting it done the first time…the right way. You can NEVER buy more time. It’s the most relevant, most valuable commodity you have – be very careful how you use it. Use it wisely.    :)

Since figuring this important concept out for myself…finding the right mentor saved a lot of time and money…especially when you consider it was time that can never be replaced.

4. Be YOURSELF. For whatever reason, lots of people try to be something or someone they’re not. Just be your authentic self. You are unique and you have your own style. As you’re building your list, let your personality shine through. Let your subscribers know that you’re a real person and that you’re passionate about their success. As you develop your skills better, you’ll discover ways to be yourself even more. It’s a little awkward at first, but eventually you find your own voice as you focus on it.

This goes hand in hand with being authentic. If you’re trying to be someone you’re not, your audience will see right through it. Nearly all programs say, “write like this” or “write like that…”. If you want people to seek you out, CONNECT WITH YOUR AUDIENCE. Period.

The people who fail don’t connect with their audience and they don’t focus on building relationships with their list.

Just be be you.

Here’s the point of all this…

You don’t have to go through life as an “employee” who keeps living the dream for someone else… Or worse… Someone who avoids trying to become successful at all!

But, there are some rules…guidelines, really… to follow that work.

If you run your business using what I shared with you here, you’ll do well.

Learn from me. I’ve been where you’re at now. Maybe even a lot worse.

I’m going to show you how you can stop banging your head against the wall using strategies that don’t work… stop punishing yourself for not being able to make it work.

Instead, start using proven, powerful, tested methods that work.

When you apply this stuff, you’re arming yourself with authentic and genuine information.
